Callie's Bridal Portraits - Smithfield North Carolina Wedding Photographer

Callie and Buzz's wedding was this past Saturday. They had a beautiful wedding and a rocking reception. Here are two of Callie's favorites from her bridal portrait session a couple months ago. The first photo is the one Callie is using for their wedding announcement in the newspapers. We printed the second one for a wall portrait, and it looks gorgeous, printed and framed and big.

Whitney's Bridal Portraits - Cary, NC Wedding Photographer

I photographed Whitney's bridal portraits several weeks before her wedding on a sweltering day in August. We had our session at the beautiful Matthew's House in Cary, NC. If any brides or photographers are looking for a excellent place for portraits, I recommend this venue. The house was beautiful, the grounds were nice, and the staff was gracious and accommodating.

Now for the bride:

Mrs. Mark Samosky - Smithfield, NC Bridal and Wedding Photography

I photographed Claire's bridal portraits several weeks before her wedding. The weather was better than you'd typically expect for a July afternoon. We got some beautiful photos inside her parent's house and out around the house too. Look for a blog post with some of my favorites from Claire and Mark's wedding soon.

Mrs. Mitchell

Callie and Devin got married in Wilmington this past weekend at the Balcony on Dock. This is one of her final images from her bridal session in the cotton field this past fall. The guests at the wedding love, loved this photo. yea!! Callie's beautiful veil and dress are from Tre Bella Bridal in Durham, NC.

The Hebrew scripture on the photo is Song of Solomon 8:6-7.
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

Oh Agriculture!

Bridal portraits in a cotton field with a big, very red barn in the background? Yes, please! Does anyone else want to model? Really, let me know.

Even after the cotton is harvested I'll be taking other clients back to this field for portraits. The farmer uses the fields for other crops throughout the year--and the barn probably isn't going anywhere. LOVELY!!

You'll see more from this bride in a few months.

Mrs. Kellogg

Today was such a great day for Stephanie and Ryan's wedding. Stephanie was super chill the whole day, and Ryan had the biggest cheesiest smile that lasted the entire time. I think he might have worked it for the camera a couple times, but I might be wrong—he was probably just working his excitement.

I finally get to show you Stephanie's gorgeous bridal portraits. We shot them a couple months ago at the Hinnant Family Vineyards in Pine Level, NC. That's where we had the reception this evening. They're in the process of renovating their banquet hall, but they put together a beautiful room for the party tonight; I understand there will be even more changes by the next time I visit.

Just One

I had an absolute blast Sunday afternoon photographing Stephanie for her bridal portrait, and I know she totally enjoyed her modeling debut. We spent well over 2 hours shooting in the heat and humidity, but Stephanie was such a great sport. She'll know it was definitely worth it when she gets to see all her photos. (But you have to wait til August to see more.)

Workin it, towards the end of the shoot.

Change is good

I want to let all you blog readers know about a big studio change I’m making over the next couple weeks—and I’m so excited. I’ve been renting some of my studio equipment over the past few years, and I’ve finally decided take the big step to invest in more of my own equipment and stop renting. So, I have a new studio set up with new lights, 6 new backdrops, yea, and some other required, boring, equipment. I’m keeping my same office and studio location.

I have one last formal bridal session scheduled with the current equipment for this Saturday afternoon, then I’ll be making the transition. The new stuff is going to be great for family photos, kids, high school seniors (more on seniors’ summer specials soon), etc. I’m not sure how formal bridal portraits are going work in the studio after the change, but I have an AMAZING back up plan. Oh, I’m so pumped!!!

Right now I have a couple brides scheduled for location bridal shoots. One is this Sunday, and the other will likely be in early fall. I’m really looking forward working with these ladies outside the studio for some amazing pre-wedding portraits. I’ll have to see what I can do about posting one or two images from this weekend, before the wedding. No bride wants to spoil the anticipation of the dress, so I’ll have to be careful about what I choose.

Here are a few quick wedding day shots so you can see the potential. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend and we can get some gorgeous outdoor portraits.
